Studio Nick Spain (f.k.a. Arthur’s) is a design firm that creates adventurous interiors and gardens for curious clients.
Play, imagination and inventiveness are core tenets of the firm. Viewing each project as an exercise in storytelling, it employs unusual combinations of color, form, texture and time periods to create singular environments that are rooted in the past, grounded by the present and have an eye toward the future. The firm works on a small number of design projects at any given time to ensure each space is tailored to the unique needs and perspectives of its clients.
Its projects have been published internationally and featured in publications including Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Vogue, Wallpaper* and more.

Nick Spain is a designer and writer working across interiors and gardens.
Drawing on his formal training in theater, Nick approaches each new project as a role to be played. He strives to strip away preconceived notions from the design process entirely in order to create environments that are emotive, honest and a little unexpected.
His writing has appeared in The Fader, Vice, Domino and more, and in 2024 he was named a runner-up in the inaugural World of Interiors x Montblanc Writing Prize for his piece, Domestic Bliss. He writes a monthly newsletter on design, culture, and whatever else he feels like called Postscript.
